Everstar Air Conditioner Help

An Everstar portable air conditioner produces cool air for your home or office. You can pick up the unit or roll it on its casters to the room of your choice. Once the unit is installed and in use, you might have questions about how to correct problems that might arise.
  1. Drainage

    • The unit features an internal tank, which holds humidity and moisture taken from the air during the "Dry" or dehumidifying cycle. When the tank fills, an LED light illuminates on the front panel display to let you know that the tank needs to be emptied. If the tank isn't drained, the dehumidifying process stops. The mid-back of the Everstar features a drain plug. A hose comes with the unit and hooks up to the drain plug and the internal tank, allowing water to drain from the unit into the internal tank. The tank can be detached from the unit, carried to a drainage area and dumped. As soon as the empty tank is placed back into the unit, the "Dry" cycle continues.

    Air Filter

    • Each Everstar air conditioner features a reusable air filter, which must be cleaned periodically to ensure the smooth and proper function of the unit. The air filter is reached through the back of the unit. You can open the filter cover by pulling on the air filter tab. Grasp the air filter, and pull it out. You can use clear water or soapy warm water to clean both sides of the air filter until all dirt and blockage is removed. Allow the air filter to dry, reinsert it into the back of the unit and close the filter cover.

    Remote Control

    • If the Everstar remote control fails to operate, the batteries might be dead or installed incorrectly. Slide the back off of the remote control, and extract the two AAA batteries from the battery chamber. Insert two new ones, and confirm that they are inserted according to the polarity indicators on the inside of the unit. You can use the remote control to change the thermostat setting and switch modes and fan speeds as well as turn the timer and unit on or off.

    Timer

    • When the unit turns off unexpectedly, the timer option might have been activated on accident. The timer feature sets up a time within 24 hours in the future for the unit to automatically shut off. If you press the "Timer On" button on the remote control or on the unit's front panel, the timer activates. Press the "Timer Off" button on the remote or on the front panel to turn off the timer.
