How to Install Goldstar GWHD5000

Verify that your window is of an appropriate size for the GWHD5000 unit. Your window must be between 21 and 35 inches in width, and must open to a height of at least 12 inches.

Slide the guide panels into the unit's guides. Three guides are located along the top and sides of the unit.

Attach the guides to the unit using the included 10-millimeter screws.

Cut the included adhesive-backed seal strip to the width of your window. Peel off the adhesive backing and affix the strip to the bottom of the window that will be resting on the top of the air conditioning unit.

Attach the include L-brackets behind the inner window sill. These L-brackets support the weight of the portion of the air conditioning unit that hangs outside the edge of the window sill. Screw one bracket onto the left side of the outer sill using the included 10-millimeter screws. Attach the other bracket to the right side of the sill.

Lift the air conditioner and slide it into the open window. Align the air conditioner such that the guide that is pre-installed on the bottom of the air conditioner slides into the L brackets.

Pull the window shut such that the seal strip rests on the top of the air conditioner unit. The unit show hang slightly lower in the portion of the unit that hangs out the window.

Pull out the guide panels so that they fill the portion of the window that is not occupied by the air conditioner. Screw the guide panels into place using the included 16 millimeter wood screws.

Cut the sash seal to the window width. Insert the sash seal between the closed window pane and the open window pane to seal the opening from drafts and insects.

Attach the power cord to an electrical outlet. Your Goldstar air conditioning unit is now ready for use.
