Place the Samsung unit's drain tube gasket against the drain tube area beneath the grille on the back of the air conditioner unit. Hold the gasket in place while you place the drain tube with the rubber cap over the gasket and against the back of the unit. Align the two screw holes, insert the two supplied drain hose screws into the holes and screw them in with a screwdriver.
Remove the screws that secure the front grille with a screwdriver then take it off.
Insert the screwdriver into the two screws on the bottom side of the Samsung air conditioner toward the front. Unscrew the two screws and remove the chassis.
Locate the rubber cap on the base pan's rubber drain hose cap on the back of the Samsung. Settle the drain pan into position and insert the supplied drain hose in place of the drain cap.
Place the chassis back onto the Samsung unit and replace the screws into the side of the unit with the screwdriver.
Replace the front grille onto the unit, secure the screws into their holes on the front panel then screw the grille back into place.
Place a piece of 1-by-2 inch wood along the inside front portion of the windowsill and another piece on the outside of the windowsill. Hammer a nail into each end of the wood pieces until both are securely fastened to the exterior window ledge of the house.
Position two L-brackets on the outside piece of wood with the upturned piece of the bracket facing away from the window. Butt the bracket edges up against the outer windowsill. Place the supplied screws into each bracket and screw them into the wood with a screwdriver.
Insert the Samsung air conditioner unit into the window with the bottom air conditioner guard lowered between the L-bracket backs and the outer windowsill.
Lower the open window down on top of the Samsung air conditioner just behind the top air conditioner guard.
Place two L-brackets on either side of the top of the open window so that the longer, flat portion of the bracket faces the window frame. Insert a screw into the holes of each bracket and screw them into the window frame. This prevents the window from opening.
