Select a location for the indoor unit, such as in a living room area. The mini-split system will cool and heat one room only. Make sure the location is at least 8 feet above the floor, on a sturdy wall.
Attach the indoor unit to the wall, with the supplied screws. Install the screws directly into a wall stud, rather than pure drywall, by using a stud finder tool.
Attach the supplied copper tubing to the back of the indoor unit, with a connecting screw. Connect the drain hose below the copper tubing, by securing the two pipes together with a binding belt.
Snake the bound tube length through the wall and outside, to the intended location for the outdoor unit.
Place the outdoor unit on a flat space, preferably concrete. Confirm that there is adequate spacing around the entire unit for future servicing and repair access.
Attach the bound tube -- housing the drain hose and copper piping -- to the outdoor unit, with the supplied connecting screws. Verify that the connection is secure, preventing any leaks.
Connect the indoor and outdoor units to electrical power, by plugging the power cords into wall sockets.
Turn on the system. Test the functions for both heating and cooling.
