Choose the room, or rooms, for the indoor unit installation. Mount the indoor unit on the wall with screws, approximately 8 feet above the floor, using a screwdriver.
Connect the supplied gas and refrigerant pipes to the indoor unit's rear panel. Tighten the connection with a wrench.
Snake the gas and refrigerant pipes through the home's walls until they reach the outdoor multi-split portion.
Locate the outdoor multi-split device's permanent installation area. Typically, the outdoor unit should be on a concrete pad, protected from direct sun or weather elements.
Connect the gas and refrigerant pipes to the outdoor unit. Tighten the connection with a wrench.
Attach the discharge drain pipe to the outdoor unit. Verify that the drain empties into the home's drain system to avoid any accidental puddles or water damage near the outdoor unit. Place drain caps onto any other open drain sockets supplied by the outdoor unit.
Connect the indoor and outdoor units to the home's electrical panel. Confirm that the MXZ-2A20NA system has a dedicated electrical circuit to avoid any circuit breaker trips.
Turn the system on and test all functions.
