Instructions

Spray the fittings on the connector hose with a penetrating catalyst. A penetrating catalyst is a petroleum-based spray that helps loosen stuck fittings. The fittings on the hoses may be stuck with a buildup of mineral deposits. Use a rag to catch any catalyst that drips off of the fittings. Allow the catalyst to soak on the fittings for 10 to 15 minutes.

Tighten the jaws of an adjustable wrench around the fittings.

    • 3

Turn the fittings counterclockwise to loosen them. Use short powerful thrusts with the wrench to loosen especially tough fittings. Spray more catalyst if needed. Loosen the fittings with the wrench until you can remove them completely by hand. Pull the hoses off their connections by hand once the fittings are detached.
