How to Make a Tile Table

Obtain a suitable surface upon which to create your masterpiece of creativity and functionality. Actually, it is quite simple if you are willing to shop at thrift shops, second hand furniture stores or even the classifieds. The aesthetics of the top aren't very important. What is important is a solid understanding and a suitable size for the surface space.

Create a pattern for the table you hope to make. It will help determine the amount of tile you need for the project, the size and scope of your project, and the other materials that will be needed to make a table.

Find tile that is agreeable to your table making needs. Most major home improvement or home supply stores will have a decent selection that should fit the bill quite nicely. You may also wish to visit some local thrift stores for interesting bits of glass that may be suitable for your project. You never know what you might find that can inspire you when crafting.

Lay out the tile in the pattern you choose then apply the grout. Grout is applied over the tiles then you will go back and wipe the tiles clean with a damp cloth. It is recommended to bring a bucket of water with you that you can rinse the cloth in if you are making a fairly sizable tile table.

Allow the table to dry. Then apply a protective coat of sealant that will help protect the tile and the grout from stains and scratches along the way.
