Set up a deer resting area in the woods around your home to help keep deer in the area, where they may shed their antlers. Place a salt lick and some corn kernels or fruit near a brushy area, away from roads and houses. However, you may not bait a deer if you are trying to hunt the deer. It is illegal. This is only for the purpose of collecting naturally shed antlers.
Visit your local hardware store and purchase a chandelier lighting kit to wire your antlers and turn them into a light fixture.
Clean the antlers (inside and out) with soap to get rid of any bacteria or bugs that may have created a home inside of them. Oil soap works best, but any mild soap will do. Rinse them very well and allow them to dry.
Apply two to three coats of stain with your stain brush, allowing each coat to dry completely before adding another.
Drill holes through the tips of the antlers where you would like to place the bulbs.
Connect the antlers by securing them together at their bases. They should stay together just by hooking each antler through another. If they are not stable, use screws to keep them properly and securely in place. Be sure that they are as even as possible and that one side is not hanging too far down as compared to the other.
Drill holes through the side of the antlers where you will be placing your wire. Pull the wire through the antlers to create a circle of lights around your antlers and through each of your antlers. Tighten up the wires by gently (but firmly) pulling them. Use screws to keep your antlers together if the chandelier seems unstable with the wires alone.
Run your wire through the antlers using the holes that you drilled. Bring the wires out through the tips of the antlers.
Fill the holes in the antlers using air-drying clay. Allow to dry completely.
Connect the chandelier to your ceiling if you are comfortable doing so. Do not wire them to your ceiling if you are inexperienced with electrical wiring. Instead, call an electrician.
