How to Make Homemade Lemonade Stands

Lemonade stands bring back fond memories of summer and hoping to make enough money from sales to buy the latest comic book or outfit for your doll. Help your child set up a stand in your neighborhood. People that know who you are more likely to buy from you. While homemade lemonade probably tastes the best and your child will make the most money, consider selling pre-bottled lemonade for health and safety reasons.

Instructions

    • 1

Stack the wooden produce crates two high so the height is 36 inches. Lay a line of wood glue on the top of the first crate on the outer edges. Place the second crate on top of the first. Nail together the inside edges of each crate on the corners. The glue may ooze out a bit. Wipe the excess off if that happens.

    • 2

Glue and nail the other two sets of crates together.

    • 3

Draw a pitcher of lemonade and a glass on the fiberboard. Or print out a graphic on your computer printer and glue it to the craft cardboard. If you're using bottled lemonade add a picture of the bottle or include the name. In big red letters print the words "Lemonade for Sale -- $1.00," or whatever the price is.

    • 4

Line up the nailed crates in a row. Attach the craft cardboard to the center of the crates with a glue gun. Cover the top of the crates with cloth napkins in a bright color. Put a tray on the napkins with the glasses turned upside down to keep them sanitary.

    • 5

Behind the crates have the cooler with the iced lemonade. When the customer pays have the child remove the lemonade bottle from the ice and put an inverted glass over the top. The child could also fill the glass with ice and then hand both the glass and bottle of lemonade to the customer.
