Senco SWF10XP Upholstery Stapler Troubleshooting

Senco’s SWF10XP upholstery stapler is a fine-wire stapler. Staples are loaded from a slide rail under the stapler. Problems with the stapler can include air leaks creating a poor return; weak driving; and the tool jamming. Many problems can be avoided with some simple maintenance. Keeping screws tight; applying a little oil onto the air inlet and wiping the tool daily can help.

Instructions

    • 1

Verify that you are using only five to 10 drops of oil, and that it’s pneumatic oil, into the air inlet daily if o-rings fail. Senco recommends using its own oil product, but in any case non-pneumatic oil may cause the o-rings to disintegrate. O-rings are the gaskets in the connections between the tool and air hose.

    • 2

Ensure the air is connected, switched on and the connections are tight if the Senco SWF10XP upholstery stapler is sluggish. Tighten any screws. Position the tool against the work surface and pull the trigger whilst the tool is in contact with the work surface if the results are poor.

    • 3

Clean the tool with a soft, dry rag if the tool return is poor. Grunge can build up in the slide rail area and the lower part of the tool. Don’t soak the tool though. Use non-flammable cleaning solutions for stubborn dirt. Lubricate the magazine if the tool jams—drop some oil on the moving parts.

    • 4

Disconnect the air before removing any jammed fasteners. Use tweezers, or needle nose pliers, but take care not to gouge any parts. Don’t load the stapler with the trigger pressed in if the staples won’t load.
