Instructions on Freezing Green Peppers

Freezing vegetables is a great way to preserve and enjoy their freshness at any time of year. Green peppers are an easy vegetable to freeze because, unlike many other vegetables, they do not need to be blanched prior to freezing. As with freezing any vegetable, select green peppers at their peak of ripeness to create the best frozen product. With a few easy steps, you can easily freeze ripe green peppers that will stay fresh for up to a year.

      Wash the peppers thoroughly, and pat dry with a paper towel.

      Cut peppers in half and remove the stems and seeds.

      Slice or dice peppers to the desired size.

      Place sliced peppers onto a tray in a single layer.

      Freeze the tray for 30 minutes.

      Remove peppers from the freezer and place them into plastic freezer bags.

      Remove as much air as possible from inside the plastic bag and seal.

      Label and date the bag and return to the freezer.
