Water the soil on a consistent basis and apply some organic fertilizer. In many cases, stink bugs are attracted to areas that are water stressed. Consequently, nourishing the soil with water and fertilizer should help to get rid of the majority of stink bugs.
Inter-crop your plants if possible. Growing two types of plants in a close area has been known to confuse stink bugs. As a result, they usually move on to another area and leave your soil alone.
Place some catnip powder around the soil. Doing so will provide a natural repellant to ward off stink bug infestation. In addition, you can plant some catnip as well.
Create a mixture of water and garlic powder to get rid of stink bugs. This is done by mixing 2 cups of water with 4 tsp. of garlic powder in a spray bottle and shaking it up. Spray the problem soil with this mixture once every three days to deter the bugs.
Use an organic pesticide if you are still experiencing problems. While this option isn't quite as natural as the previous ones, it tends to be effective. Pyrethrum in particular has been known to kill off stink bug infestations without doing harm to soil. Follow the instructions on the product to determine the application amount and frequency.
