  Select a starter wreath from a craft or hobby supply shop. Starter craft wreaths are bare wreaths that vary in size, texture and design. Choose one that you find attractive for part of your Christmas decor.

  Select up to a dozen silk poinsettia flowers. Snip the stems from each of them, leaving only an inch on each blossom.

  Wire each poinsettia to random parts of the wreath. This creates splashes of color and texture using the flowers with your Christmas craft. Embellish the wreath with other objects such as antique trinkets for a vintage look.

  Gather a variety of fresh winter flowers, such as poinsettias and Christmas cacti.

  Select a base for your arrangement. A decorative idea can be a set of stacked nesting boxes that are wrapped with holiday paper. Leave the top nesting box without a lid to arrange your fresh flowers in it.

  Shorten the stems of the flowers you have chosen so they fit in the base you have chosen.

  Place the altered flowers you have chosen into the base for the arrangement. Arrange the flowers so they are even and that no flaws are visible.

  Embellish the floral Christmas arrangement with assorted holiday accents. For example, holiday tinsel adds shimmering effects to the piece as do small Christmas ornaments placed into the floral focal piece.
