I like to plant climbing roses using a small wood trellis or you can use a wire trellis.Make sure the wood trellis is secured and can handle the weight.Climbing roses need good morning sunlight and a area that gets about 6 hours of sun a day.Roses require plenty of day light. As far as watering if it has not rained then you need to water them and give them a good soaking about once a week if you are in a dry climate. If you are planting new roses they need to be planted in the spring time in good fertile soil.
I like to cut back my roses in the spring time if they have been planted a year ago or are established roses.By cutting them back or pruning the roses they will start new branches and more rose buds.Climbing roses will work their way up through the trellis.I just move the branches up into the trellis and they are good to go.
You need to fertilized the roses when it is in the growing season.Do not apply fertilizer if they are soak or in dry weather this could burn the roots or cause the leafs to turn brown. You can get rose fertilizer at your local plant store or green house.Once the roses have bloomed you can cut them and take them into the house to put in a nice vase with treated water to make them last longer.Keep the roses cool if you are going to give them to a special someone.
