Instructions

    • 1

Place the rock into the bench vise.

    • 2

Mark the area where the hole will be drilled, using a marker.

    • 3

Fit the power drill with the diamond bit in the diameter of the hole needed in the rock.

    • 4

Squirt water onto the rock surface.

    • 5

Put on eye goggles and gloves.

    • 6

Drill on the marked dot, stopping every minute to prevent the drill and rock from over heating, which may cause the rock to crack.

    • 7

Squirt water onto the rock and in the developing hole as you progress, to keep the rock cool and to lubricate the rock for the drill.

    • 8

Continue the drill-water-cool process until the drill bit goes through the rock.

    • 9

Squirt water through the hole to cool the rock, then remove from the vise.
