Peppermint plants are a popular find in many gardens, as they are used in a variety of recipes and concoctions. Though they can be useful, mint plants can spread very quickly and aggressively, forcing a gardener to contain and control the growth. Herbicides can damage an entire garden, enhancing the damage caused by the out-of-control plant. As an alternative, you can spot-treat the growth without the use of chemicals, sparing your other plants and the environment.
