How to Kill Bees on a Sprinkler

Bees are an essential part of nature, but they can certainly be a nuisance. If you’ve got a colony of bees that’s decided to call your sprinkler system home, this can not only make watering your lawn difficult, it can make the yard dangerous for your children, pets and other family members. Using a few household items, you can create a solution that will effectively kill the bees without any harsh chemicals that may ruin your grass or sprinkler.

  • Liquid dish soap
  • Plastic spray bottle

      Add 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap to the spray bottle.

      Add 1 quart of tap water to the spray bottle. Stir the solution. Do not shake vigorously; this will result in a large amount of soap suds.

      Spray the beehive or collection of bees directly with the solution. It is advisable to wear protective clothing. Soak the bees and hive as much as possible while remaining safe.

      Repeat the application every 24 hours for 3 to 4 days, until the bees have all been killed off.
