How to Get Rid of Too Many Outside Spiders & Webs

Spiders make their homes where they can catch abundant prey. You'll find their webs hanging near light fixtures and windows. Although the webs might be unsightly, they help spiders eliminate pests, such as flies, moths and mosquitoes. If you're willing to let the spider stay, they'll help keep the local insect population under control, benefiting your garden while also discouraging bugs from breaking into your house. If you want to remove the web, you have a couple of choices.

Instructions

Attach a spray nozzle to your water hose. If you don't have a spray nozzle, you can create the same effect by partially blocking the water flow with your thumb.

    • 2

Spray the spiderweb. A high-pressured stream of water will eliminate the web in seconds. If you hit the spider directly, it might die.

    • 3

Look on the ground. If the spider is still alive, either let it live or crush it with your shoe. You can also scoop it into a jar and relocate it to your garden, where it will be of greater use.
