Some wasps live in the open, building their nests right over your porch swing or in the area above your door. Others prefer a little more privacy. They'll burrow into your crawlspace or dig holes in the garden. Sometimes, they'll even take up residence in a drain or gutter. A heavy rainfall can persuade these wasps to move someplace drier; but if no rain is forthcoming, you can get rid of the wasps with bucket of soapy water.

Pour the soapy water down the gutter. The solution will drench the wasps and their nest. The detergent will kill the wasps and any larvae in the nest.
