How to Kill Wasps Out of Drains

Some wasps live in the open, building their nests right over your porch swing or in the area above your door. Others prefer a little more privacy. They'll burrow into your crawlspace or dig holes in the garden. Sometimes, they'll even take up residence in a drain or gutter. A heavy rainfall can persuade these wasps to move someplace drier; but if no rain is forthcoming, you can get rid of the wasps with bucket of soapy water.

Instructions

    • 1

Mix a gallon of soap and water in a bucket. If you're using liquid soap, use equal amounts of soap and water. If you're using detergent, use a cup of it.

    • 2

Climb onto your roof or prop a ladder next to the gutter intake.

    • 3

Pour the soapy water down the gutter. The solution will drench the wasps and their nest. The detergent will kill the wasps and any larvae in the nest.
