Drain the gas tank and disconnect the gas line from the carburetor. Check the line for cracks; replace it if necessary.
Remove the carburetor from the weedeater housing by removing the four Allen head screws. Two of the screws hold the air filter and choke, and the other two hold the carburetor unit. Twist the carburetor to dislodge and remove it.
Remove all screws to access both the top and bottom of the carburetor. As you disassemble the carburetor, lay out the pieces in the order in which you remove them; this will make it easier to put the new pieces back in the right places.
Remove the small pin that holds in the carburetor float and remove it.
Take out the needle valve and the gasket, and remove all the old gaskets and the diaphragm. Take time to scrape off any gasket material that may be stuck to the edges with a gasket scraper. Use gasket remover spray to clean stubborn areas.
Take off the air-fuel and idle screws, counting the number of revolutions it takes to remove each -- this will make it easier to put the new screws in. Clean the carburetor thoroughly with carburetor cleaner before reassembling it with new parts from the kit.
Begin replacing the parts on the carburetor with the new parts that come from the kit. Replace each part in the order which you took it out. Replace all of the parts with new ones, even those that look like they might still be in good shape. After installing the new carburetor parts, return the reassembled unit to the weedeater.
