How to Install a Muck Truck Dual Wheel Block

A Muck Truck is a 202-pound Honda powered self-propelling wheelbarrow. It has large wheels and is capable of navigating rough terrain. When you park your Muck Truck to load and unload it, you should use a wheel block to keep the vehicle from moving on its own. Making a wheel block is straightforward and will only take a few minutes to complete.

Things You'll Need

  • Tape measure
  • 4-by-4-inch lumber
  • Circular saw
  • Nylon strap
  • Scissors
  • 1/2-inch diameter lag bolt
  • Fender washer
  • Socket set

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the width of the wheelbase from the outside of the left wheel to the outside of the right wheel. Use a tape measure for this. Knowing the wheel base allows you to make a wheel block that extends across both wheels. This increases safety and reduces the likelihood that the weight of the vehicle will push the wheel block.

    • 2

Cut a piece of 4-by-4 lumber to match the length of the wheelbase. Use a circular saw, miter saw or band saw to make the cut. Since the Muck Truck is designed for use in sloppy conditions, use treated lumber for the wheel block.

    • 3

Cut a 12-inch long by 1-inch wide strip of nylon fabric with scissors. Double the fabric over to create a 6-inch long strap.

    • 4

Cut a slot into the top of the strap and then secure the strap to one end of the wheel block with a ½-inch diameter lag bolt. The strap lets you pull the wheel block out without having to get down on the ground. This will help to keep you cleaner.
