How to Keep Weed Eater Nylon From Breaking

Inspect the Weed Eater before each use for cracked, chipped or damaged parts on the head. Replace or repair anything damaged, if necessary.

Use only the trimmer head and nylon string as recommended by Weed Eater. The recommended string typically is a non-metallic nylon monofilament cutting line.

Inspect the area you are trimming before each use. Remove any objects such as pieces of glass, rocks, nails or other hard or sharp objects that could become caught in the nylon string.

Keep the engine at less-than-full throttle when trimming. The line still effectively cuts at a lower speed; higher speeds are likely to break the nylon.

Hold the Weed Eater above the ground, instead of letting it come into continuous contact with the ground, which wears down the nylon line.

Replace the spool when the lugs are rounded or broken off.
