How to Remove Tires From Snow Blowers

After repeated use of your snow blower, you might need to change the unit's tires. Whether you get a flat tire or damage the tires in another way, removing the tires from the snow blower can be accomplished on your own. You do not need any type of snow blower or tire changing expertise to remove the snow blower tires. In fact, if you have ever removed tired from a lawn mower, you will find that the process is quite similar.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Push the snow blower onto a level surface, if you do not already have it on one.

    • 2

Lift up one side of the machine at the base with the assistance of a friend. Alternatively, use a car jack to lift one side.

    • 3

Slide a wood block under the raised side of the snow blower. This will help keep the machine propped up so that you have easy access to the tire on that side. If you are using a car jack, you do not need the wood block.

    • 4

Push the pin clip so that you can pull the pin out of the axle. One pushed, pull on the pin to remove it from the axle.

    • 5

Pull the wheel off the axle. Once you have the first wheel off, you can lower that side and repeat the process for the other side.
