Ensure the engine is not running.
Remove the thin ignition wire from the rear of the spark plug. The spark plug is located on the top of the Tecumseh engine block.
Find the flywheel, which is located at the top of the Tecumseh's engine assembly and features a distinctive wheel shape. The circular flywheel is covered with an iron shroud that is bolted down. Remove the bolts using a socket wrench.
Pull the flywheel's shroud off the Tecumseh flywheel. Simply use your hands now that the bolts have been removed.
Check the right side of the exposed Tecumseh governor for the magneto. This is a small, black iron piece with a rounded end. There is a bolt directly beside it. The flap of your governor must be connected to this bolt. There is a wire on the governor's flap. Loop the open end of the governor's wire over the bolt and use a socket wrench to turn the bolt clockwise to tighten the flap into place.
Find the Tecumseh's carburetor halfway up the left side of the motor. The carburetor possesses a bowl, which makes it quickly identifiable. There is an eyelet near the top of the carburetor. Use your hands to connect the governor's rod into this carburetor eyelet.
Reinsert the ignition wire into the spark plug.
