Troubleshooting the Comet Pump on a Pressure Washer

Comet pump pressure washers generally are used to wash large surfaces or flush out lines. While most residential pressure washers are hand-held units, a pressure washer with a Comet pump is a large machine with an engine and gas tank. Only adults familiar with operating large-scale, fuel-based machinery with pressure should operate or troubleshoot the pressure washer.

Check the air inlet on the pressure washer for obstructions if the pump does not charge or function. Make sure the pressure washer is connected to a working electrical outlet.

Position the regulation valve lever back to zero.

    • 4

Increase the pressure washer motor rate to between 350 and 550 pounds per square inch, or psi.
