What Size of Battery for a Bob-Cat Zero-Turn Mower?

Bob-Cat zero-turn riding mowers are manufactured by Schiller Grounds Care. Five models of the zero-turn mower are available: the Predator-Pro, Predator-Pro LP, ProCat, FastCat Pro and FastCat RZ. Each of the zero-turn mowers can be customized with different size mower decks, ranging from 36 inches to 72 inches. The battery size is one of many standard batteries used in the lawn-care industry.

    • The battery for the mower is the Battery Council International’s group number 26, or BCI26. The Battery Council International is a nonprofit organization that sets industry standards and classifications for batteries. The battery is categorized under the passenger car and light commercial BCI battery group.

    Size

    • The BCI26 battery is 8-3/16 inches in length, 6 13/16 inches in width and 7 3/4 inches in height. It is a 12-volt battery. The measurements are for the battery’s widest points and include the terminal posts, based on BCI’s sizing standards.

    Where to Buy

    • The battery can be purchased directly from Schiller or through one of its authorized dealers. Schiller’s part number for the battery is 148074. Schiller or one of its authorized dealers will recommend one or several brands of batteries to ensure optimal performance of the mower.

    Location

    • Bob-Cat zero-turn mowers are designed for easy maintenance. Frequently changed parts on the machine, such as the battery, are within reach. The battery is accessible simply by tipping the seat forward. Tipping the seat forward also gives access to the hydraulic fluid reservoir. The foot pad lifts for access to the belt.
