How to Install a Phantom Grille

Installing a Billet Phantom grille overlay onto your vehicle gives the vehicle a custom look. The Phantom grille offers a sleek appearance with -- and is available for -- a variety of makes and models. The installation process only takes about 30 minutes, and does not require you to remove the factory grille. If you want to remove the overlay, you can do so at any time by reversing the steps. Installation, or removal, of the Phantom grille should not cause any damage to your vehicle.

Instructions

    • 1

Push in on the clips that hold the factory logo on your original grille. Pull forward to take the logo off the grille. You can access the clips by sticking your fingers into the grille from the front of the vehicle, or by opening the hood and reaching behind the grille.

    • 2

Lay the Billet Phantom grille face down on a soft towel.

    • 3

Place the four U-bolt clips into the four square brackets that came with the grille. The clips slide and lock into place inside the brackets. Insert the small flat side of the clip into the bracket, not the angled side.

    • 4

Hook the four brackets into place on the factory grille by sliding the hooked end in between the plastic bar and weaving it down. Insert the bracket into the second slot on the factory grille, inside the opening for the turn signal. Slide the bracket in, while turned to the side. Face it forward to lock it into place. Repeat for the other side of the grille. If you're unsure if they're located in the right area, hold the Phantom grille up and line the small screw holes on the back of the grille up to where the brackets will screw into place.

    • 5

Stand back and ensure they're centered correctly with the grille. Adjust the brackets if necessary.

    • 6

Lift the Phantom grille into place, while being careful not to move the brackets.

    • 7

Slide a flat-head screwdriver through the opening of the grille, and use it to hold the bracket in place. Line the four small screw holes on the Phantom grill up to the brackets. Screw a 1 1/4-inch screw into each of the brackets, using a Phillips screwdriver.
