Install the PP1000e by pushing its shaft into the coupler on the trimmer's shaft. The lock-release button will snap in the hole, locking the two shafts together. Turn the knob on the coupler clockwise to further secure the two shafts.
Set the cutting depth of the edger to the depth you want to edge around a sidewalk or driveway. Locate the depth adjustment knob on the PP1000e attachment next to the edger blade.
Slide the adjustment knob to raise or lower the wheel. Raising the wheel increases the cutting depth. Lowering the wheel decreases the cutting depth. Once you've selected your cutting depth, tighten the adjustment knob.
Start the trimmer's engine and allow it to warm up. Position the edger blade over the area you are going to edge. Slowly increase the engine speed before you set the wheeled edger blade into the cut. Gently guide the edger blade and wheel along the ground to create a straight edge. If the blade stalls, move the edger slightly back, allowing the blade to reengage.
