How to Troubleshoot the Electric Start MTD Snow Blower

The MTD electric start snow blower gives users the ability to clear driveways and walking passages. Even through the electric start snow blower uses electricity to start, the blower still needs gasoline to run. If you are having problems starting your MTD electric start snow blower, you can troubleshoot the various components on the device to ensure you are starting it correctly. Troubleshooting the problem will save you time and money on sending the blower back to the manufacturer for a repair.

      Check over the electrical cord to make sure there are no frays or breaks. Replace the electrical cord if needed.

      Work out any kinks in the electrical cord to make sure that electricity is flowing properly.

      Plug the electrical cord into the wall outlet and into the power plug on the blower.

      Turn the key on the side of the blower to put it into "Start Mode."

      Check the fuel tank to make sure there is gas inside the blower. Fill the fuel tank with gas if needed by opening the black gas cap on the top of the blower's motor.
