My Craftsman Brushwacker Won't Start

Craftsman's Brushwacker trimmer is a helpful tool when trimming the grass your mower can't reach because of tight spaces. The trimmer has a small engine that powers the trimmer head. The engine runs on a mixture of gasoline and special oil. Like other small engines, the trimmer may occasionally be hard to start. Proper maintenance will often prevent problems. But if your trimmer won't start, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Check the fuel to determine if it is old or mixed incorrectly. Place a drain pan under the fuel tank. Remove the fuel cap and tilt the trimmer slightly to allow the old fuel to drain into the pan. Add new fuel and replace the fuel cap. Dispose of the old fuel according to local regulations.
