How to Remove a Black & Decker 7600 Type 3 Router Bit

The Black and Decker 7600 Type 3 plunge router uses a standard locking cullet system to secure router bits to the router. Before you attempt to remove a router bit from your Black and Decker router, unplug the router from the electrical outlet. This will prevent you from accidentally turning on the machine. This is a very important safety precaution to take when working with high-power routers.

Instructions

    • 1

Flip the router upside down or place it on its side so you can see the spindle lock.

    • 2

Remove the cullet wrench from the base plate of the router by pulling it out. The wrench is black and flat.

    • 3

Place the wrench onto the cullet and press in the silver spindle lock. The cullet is black and looks like a hex nut. It is the part of the router that clamps to the router shank. The spindle lock is a sliver pin that you press into a hole located on the side of the spindle.

    • 4

Loosen the cullet with the wrench by turning the wrench counterclockwise. With the cullet loosened, pull the router bit out of the cullet.
