How to Mount a Snow Blade

Snow blades can be used on different pieces of machinery such as industrial tractors, ATVs, or even cars. These blades push snow off of roads and driveways to free up driving conditions. You don't have to be an expert on snow blades to mount one on your vehicle. All you need is a snow blade kit and a couple household tools.

Instructions

    • 1

Position the lift frame to the proper height. Most lift frames need to be around 10-12 inches off of the ground. Look for the proper lift height to mount your snow blade in the instruction manual.

    • 2

Position the snow blade's support brackets onto the vehicle's lift frame.

    • 3

Clamp the support brackets in place at the clamps and make sure that you have about 2 inches of clearance between your vehicle and the clamps.

    • 4

Attach the snow blade to the lift frame according to the instructions in your kit. Usually these two pieces are held together through bolts.

    • 5

Attach the lift arm to the lift frame with the bolt provided in the kit. Use a wrench to secure the lock nut to the other end of the bolt.

    • 6

Hook the chain provided to the lift frame and then attach the chain to the lift arm.
