How to Remove a Homelite Carburetor

Homelite produces a variety of gas-powered tools, including weed-whackers, leaf blowers and branch trimmers. A 25- or 30-cc engine powers most Homelite tools. Sometimes you need to remove a Homelite carburetor for cleaning or replacement. Homelite carburetor removal requires only a few basic tools. Most people can remove a Homelite carburetor themselves.

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Needle-nose pliers

Instructions

      Remove the four Phillips-head screws from the air filter cover with a Phillips screwdriver.

      Pull the foam air filter from the air filter housing. The carburetor mounting bolts will now be visible.

      Pull the plastic fuel line tube off the fuel line inlet on the carburetor.

      Remove the throttle cable from the carburetor by squeezing the "Z" fitting with needle-nose pliers.

      Remove the two lock nuts that secure the carburetor with a 3/8-inch socket.

      Slide the carburetor of the two mounting studs. Slide the carburetor gasket off the two carburetor-mounting studs.
