Two-cycle

• The Ryobi two-cycle engines produce the least amount of emissions as compared to other Ryobi engine models. Ryobi sells two types of two-cycle engines: standard and 30cc. The standard two-cycle is found on the gas trimmers and blower/vacuum models, including the model RY09050 gas blower and the model RY28020 17-inch curved shaft trimmer. The only two-cycle gas trimmer without the standard two-cycle engine is the TouchStart straight shaft trimmer model RY29550. This trimmer comes with a 30 cc, two-cycle engine, and this engine produces up to 1 hp of power. This engine is more powerful than the standard version. These engines use two-cycle engine lubricant.

46 CC

• The 46 cc engines are found on both models of the Ryobi chainsaws: model RY10518 18-inch chain saw and the model RY10520 20-inch chain saw. The 46 cubic centimeters refers to the engine displacement, which is the total volume that the pistons can move through the cylinders in a single push. These chain saws also use two-cycle engine lubricant.

26 CC

• The 26 cc engine is only found on the model RY26540 brush cutter trimmer, and this engine produces up to 0.8 hp of power. It comes with a centrifugal clutch to assist with power transfer, and it has a chrome-plated cylinder. This engine also uses two-cycle engine oil.

4 Cycle

• The Ryobi four-cycle engines are found on four-cycle straight and curved shaft trimmers, cultivators wheeled edgers. The Ryobi four-cycle engine does not require a mix of oil and gasoline; it only uses gasoline. It is a low-emissions type of engine, and it provides you with plenty of power. This engine also runs quietly, reducing noise pollution.
