Use a wrench to remove the two bolts holding the belt cover onto the unit. Use your fingers to remove the belt cover.
Remove the bolt securing the worm gear and the support to the unit. Use your hands to remove the worm gear and the support. Use a wrench to remove the four flange bolts that are securing the auger housing and the handlebar assembly.
Separate the auger housing from the handlebar assembly with caution. Remove the auger belt drive from the engine's drive pulley. Loosen the belt guides to remove the belt from the drive pulley. Prop the handlebars onto a table or workbench.
Use a wrench to loosen the belt guides on the back of the unit's auger housing. These are located just below the auger drive pulley. Remove the auger belt from the unit once the belt guides are loose enough.
Position the belt around the auger drive pulley inside the auger housing. Tighten the belt guides that you loosened before. Put the auger housing and the handlebar assembly back together and then position them with the auger belt on the engine.
Secure the auger housing and the handlebar assembly with the four flange bolts. Replace the worm gear and the support inside the unit. Position the belt cover and then secure it with the two bolts to complete the installation.
