How to Install a Hose to a Pipe Water Hose

Connecting and disconnecting water hoses to faucets can be a hassle when you need to irrigate a garden or lawn, or perhaps wash the car, but don't want to be bothered with unscrewing the hose and dragging it across the ground to a new location. Installing a hose to another pipe water hose extends the reach of your watering capabilities. Adding a quick-connector coupler, available at hardware and lawn and garden stores, lets you install one hose to another in a matter of seconds.

Instructions

    • 1

Stop the flow of water by turning the faucet knob completely clockwise until tight.

    • 2

Insert the female end of the first hose into the threaded male coupler that comes in the quick-connector package. Twist the two parts together until tight.

    • 3

Insert the male end of the second hose into the female half of the quick-connector set. Screw together until tight.

    • 4

Pull back the slide on the male quick-connector on one hose and push into the female quick-connector on the second hose. Release the slide to lock the two hoses together. Some quick-connector sets also require a half-twist to lock the two halves together.

Open the water valve on the faucet to use the two interconnected hoses.
