How to Remove an Echo Trimmer Spool

Echo manufactures many types of trimmers, for use in both a home and commercial environment. Echo trimmers cut grass using two nylon strings that rapidly rotate on the bottom of the trimmer. The string is made of heavy nylon, and it will break after regular use. The trimmer has a spool at the bottom that stores and releases extra line as needed. When the extra line stored in the spool is exhausted, you must remove the spool and install a new one, or restring the existing spool.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn off the Echo trimmer.

    • 2

Turn the trimmer upside down so that the trimmer head is accessible.

    • 3

Turn the knob on the bottom of the head clockwise to loosen and then remove.

    • 4

Pull off the cap from under the knob and then pull off the spool.
