How to Change Blades on a Weed Warrior

One way to avoid tangled lines on your string trimmer is to install a Weed Warrior trimmer head. This device uses serrated plastic blades instead of string to cut down weeds and small brush. This eliminates the need for bump feeding the line as well and saves time when trimming. The blades on the Weed Warrior will break or wear out over time. Changing blades on a Weed Warrior does not require removal of the trimmer head.

Instructions

    • 1

Shut off your weed trimmer and wait for the head to stop rotating. Unplug the wire from the top of the spark plug with your fingers. If your trimmer has a fuel shut-off switch, flip the switch to the "Off" position with your finger.

    • 2

Place the trimmer on its side with the fuel fill pointing up. This provides access to the bottom of the Weed Warrior trimmer head.

    • 3

Press and hold the red button on the bottom of the Weed Warrior next to the blade you are removing. Hold the button down and pull the blade out of the trimmer head with your free hand. The red button controls the silver pin that locks into the end of the blade.

    • 4

Hold the red button down and push the end of the new blade with the hole into the trimmer head. Release the button and jiggle the blade as necessary until the silver pin engages in the hole of the blade.

    • 5

Repeat the process for the remaining two blades. Make sure that the silver pin locks into the hole on each of the blades. Plug the wire back over the spark plug and turn the fuel shut-off to the "On" position.
