Block the drive-shaft on the Brush Cutter by inserting the stop pin that came with the trimmer into the housing on the right side of the gearhead. Apply mild pressure to the stop pin and rotate the output shaft until the stop pin slides into position and prevents the output shaft from turning.

Unscrew the nut on the output shaft using the combination wrench that is included with the Brush Cutter. Fit the wrench on top of the nut while the stop pin is still in the gearhead and turn the nut clockwise with the combination wrench. Remove the rider plate and the thrust washer from the output shaft.

Place the string trimmer head onto the output shaft. Position the thrust washer on top of the string trimmer head, ensuring that the convex side sits inside of the string trimmer head. Thread the nut onto the output shaft counterclockwise and tighten it securely with the combination wrench. Remove the stop pin from the gearhead, completing the string cutter installation.
