Release your finger from the throttle trigger and allow the engine to come to idle speed if you own a gas-powered string trimmer. Releasing the trigger on an electrical corded or cordless model automatically turns off the string trimmer.
Allow the engine to cool down for one minute at idle speed if using a gas-powered model. This helps to prevent vapor-lock and also prevents internal parts from warping.
Press the "On/Off" control button to the "Off" position. Allow the trimmer head to come to a complete stop.
