How to Remove a Ryobi Head EZ Start 40-1

The Ryobi head EZ Start 40-1 weed-eater is a gas-powered trimmer designed with a screw-on head at the bottom of the shaft. The weed-eater uses a 40-to-1 gas-to-oil ratio and is designed for ease of use. Removing the head can be done in just a few minutes to replace the string head. You can remove the head without any tools needed.

     Verify that the cap on the fuel tank is secure before attempting to take the head off the Ryobi EZ Start 40:1 weed-eater.

     Turn the weed-eater upside-down so you are looking at the bottom of the brushcutter guard where the head sits.

     Turn the retaining spool counterclockwise to remove the head from the threaded bolt on the end of the Ryobi weed-eater.
