How to Install Nylon Line in an Echo 210 Weedeater

The Echo weedeater, model 210, consists of a spool of nylon line that is propelled in a circular motion to cut grass and weeds. As the Echo weedeater is used, the line is uncoiled to replace the worn-off end. Eventually the spool completely runs out of the nylon line and must be refilled with new line. Replacement line for the Echo 210 weedeater can be purchased from an authorized dealer. Installing the new line requires no tools and can be completed in less than five minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the Echo 210 weedeater engine before attempting to replace the trimmer line.

    • 2

Place the engine side of the weedeater on the ground with the head up in the air. Lean the head forward at an angle and hold the weedeater shaft securely between your legs with the engine behind you.

    • 3

Grasp the head cover and turn it counterclockwise to twist it off. Remove the trimmer line spool and dispose of any remaining line.

    • 4

Insert the end of the new line through the line anchor on the spool and wrap the line tightly around the spool until only 4 to 5 inches is remaining.

    • 5

Set the spool in place on the weedeater head and insert the end of the line through the trimmer line feed port in the head. Replace the head cover and twist it clockwise to tighten it.
