How to Install Wrap Around the Handle on a Stihl 018 Saw

Stihl makes a variety of lawn tools, including pole pruners, trimmers, wet-dry vacs and edgers. However, Stihl is probably best known for its chain saws. The Stihl 018 is a gas-powered chain saw that features two handles: one near the trigger, and a front handle that runs above the body of the saw. These grips are plastic, though, and they can get slippery if your hand gets hot and sweaty. Gloves are an option, but they can make handling the saw awkward. A better option is aftermarket adhesive wrap, which can be installed around the handles.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the trigger and front handles with solvent or cleaner. Apply the solvent to a rag and wipe the areas down thoroughly to remove dirt and gunk.

    • 2

Dry the areas well with a clean towel.

    • 3

Remove the wrap from its packaging and take off the adhesive backing. Place a few strips around the hand grip near the trigger. Apply the wrap around the front handle grip. Bend end it up and around, working evenly across the width of the front handle grip.
