Kentucky bluegrass is one of the slower grasses to germinate. It typically takes two to three weeks to see sprouts, depending on the growing conditions and climate.
Spread 2 to 3 lbs. of seed per 1,000 square feet. While Kentucky bluegrass can be seeded year-round, it's best to seed the lawn in the spring or fall.
Pay close attention to the moisture of the soil to help Kentucky bluegrass germinate faster. Give the seed frequent waterings -- two or three times every day for the first two weeks. Once you see sprouts, cut back on watering.
