Go to a local farmer's market or a seed and feed store. Many farmers and seed stores sell quantities of Zoysia grass seeds and other types of grass seeds in bulk at very low prices. Ask the store clerk if they have any Zoysia seeds in stock or if they can order some for you. Sometimes seed and feed stores only sell seeds on a seasonal basis, so you may find that you have to visit one of these stores in the spring to find Zoysia.
Go online to Scotts.com and in the top right corner of the homepage select the tab that says "Find Retailer." On the next screen you can search for retailers in your area that sell Scotts Zoysia grass. Enter your zip code, enter "Scotts" as a brand, "Turf Builder Grass Seed" as a product category and select "Zoysia Grass Seed and Mulch" as your product. You can also go online to Penningtonseed.com and perform a search for Zoysia grass. On the Zoysia seed product page, enter your zip code to find a retailer that carries the product in your area. There are other companies, such as Zenith, that sell Zoysia, but Scotts and Penningtons are the major distributors of this grass seed in the U.S. If you cannot locate a store in your area that carries Zoysia, call small local hardware and lawn and garden stores. Ask the customer service representatives if they sell Zoysia and how much the product costs.
Buy Zoysia seeds at the store. Before making your purchase, read the directions on the back of the package that explain the square footage that one package can seed. Buy slightly more than you need to allow for spillages, dud seeds, and birds eating seeds before germination. Buy some Zoysia-friendly lawn fertilizer to help the seeds become established.
