Installation of Astro Turf

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the area you wish to cover in Astro Turf and remove any grass or weeds from the area using the shovel.

    • 2

Spread a layer of crushed stones about 2 inches deep over the entire area you wish to cover. Smooth out the area using the rake and make sure it is completely flat and compact.

    • 3

Roll out the sections of Astro Turf over the stones. Line up each section so that the seams are all facing in the right direction.

    • 4

Trim the last three stitches from the end of each section of turf. Place each section 3/8 of an inch from each other.

    • 5

Pull back the turf to expose about 1 foot of stone and lay down the seam tape to secure the seams between the pieces. Apply the adhesive to the tape and place the turf back onto it. Press down on each section to ensure the seam stays straight.

    • 6

Pull the turf to smooth out any wrinkles and secure each section by hammering in the 6-inch-landscaping nails every 2 feet around the edge.

    • 7

Pour the sand infill over the entire area and spread it around using the broom.
