Fairy traps are made by tying the ends of six straight sticks of equal length together in a pyramid shape. Tie a bell so that it hangs from the top of the pyramid. Bait the trap with honey or berries to attract fairies, who love sweet things. Accessorize your trap with items to please the type of fairy you wish to have visit. Add a throne made from an iris blossom to attract a flower fairy or a bed of moss to please her woodland cousin. You will know a fairy has visited whenever you hear the bell ring.
A fairy bower has walls of vines. In the morning it is adorned with blue flowers, and every evening, round white flowers open to welcome the moon. Build a bower by running a string 2 feet above the ground between two poles. Drive a row of stakes into the ground 1 foot away from each side of the string. Tie more strings between the stakes and the horizontal string to make a pup-tent shape. Train morning glory and moon flower vines up the strings.
Draw a circle on the ground in the shade of some small plants such as ferns or caladiums. It needs to be in an area that stays moist. Gather flat sheets of moss and fill the circle with them. Water the moss well. Outline the circle with pebbles. Cut a 1-inch wide branch into 1-inch tall pieces for seats and a 3-inch wide branch into 2-inch tall pieces for tables. Arrange the furniture around the edge of the dance floor.
Carpet a small wooden box, such as a cigar box, with dry moss. Arrange found items in it for furniture and decorations. Use a dried mushroom for a bed and a large leaf for a blanket. Flat rocks can be occasional tables. and a curved branch can be a chaise lounge. Add pretty handcrafted items designed for a dollhouse, such as a clay tea set or an arrangement of dried flowers.
