Snip a length of flexible 16-gauge jewelry wire measuring 12 to 24 inches, depending on how large you want your wreath.
Form the length of wire into a perfect circle, twisting the ends together in a double-twist once you're done. Wrap the wire ring form with a layer of floral tape in any color you desire. Simply wrap the tape around the wire in a spiral formation until all of the wire is concealed.
Select a long length of foliage vine, either real or artificial, and spread it out in front of you. Squeeze a line of either hot glue or craft glue down the "stem" of the vine. Use a length of at least 24 inches. Wrap the glued length of vine foliage around the coated wire in the same manner as you did the floral tape. Repeat with as many lengths of foliage vine as you need to create a full, attractive wreath. English ivy, kudzu and other vine varieties are adequate.
Snip the stems from a few assorted fresh or artificial flowers, leaving only an inch protruding from each blossom. Wrap a piece of tape around the stem protrusions and connect them to 4-inch lengths of wire. Wrap the wired parts around assorted areas of the wreath to introduce splashes of floral texture and color.
Insert your choice of embellishments into your wreath such as buttons, toys and beads. Wrap wire around these items before inserting the wire into the foliage of your wreath and wrapping around the wire frame.
Cut a length of ribbon measuring 8 inches. Slide one end of the ribbon through the wreath circle and then tie it into a simple bow. Use this bow to hang the wreath from your front door as a functional accent piece.
