Instructions

  1. Hang garden lanterns

    • 1

Use the ladder if necessary to reach the ceiling of your covered patio or gazebo as you measure the length of string lights you will need. Fasten the string lights inside the roof beam with a nail-In wire clip every 3 to 4 feet apart. Put the wire about 1 to 2 inches from the bottom of the beam. You can choose to straighten the string or let it swag. Do this as you work your way around the patio. Leave enough length of lights to reach the electrical outlet, or extension cord.

    • 2

Hang S hooks or ornament hooks evenly along the string of lights. After you've tied clear mono-filament fishing line of different lengths to the top of each lantern, suspend the lanterns from the hooks around the patio.

Add votive candles to your lanterns and light with a utility lighter. Plug the string lights into an electrical outlet or extension cord.
