Stepping stones can add both beauty and function to your lawn and garden area. They can protect plants from being stepped on by providing a place to walk in between rows and plantings. Stepping stones can also add a beautiful accent with which to decorate your outdoor space and add some color to your lawn or garden area. Handmade stepping stones are a very inexpensive alternative to pre-formed stepping stones and paving stones. They can be completely customized to match any existing decor or to create a theme all of their own.

Glass gems can be purchased in a wide array of styles and colors.
Decorate the stepping stones by placing decorative glass stones into the concrete while it is still wet. Push the gems into the concrete until the tops are flush with the surface of the handmade concrete stepping stones.
4
Place the drying stepping stones into an area where they will be protected from the weather until the concrete has dried.
5
Turn the pie pan upside down to remove the stepping stone.
